Stay Active Some questions to think about when planning a sporting activity

  • Which sport would you like to pursue?
  • Is it a new sport or one that you have undertaken previously?
  • If you have undertaken the sport previously do you have any useful contacts?
  • Think about any aspects of your MS that might impact on your ability to undertake sport. For example:
    • Is your eyesight affected?
    • Is mobility a problem?
    • Would it be helpful to speak to your GP or your MS specialist nurse?
  • Think about the cost of participation. Many sports offer a taster session.
  • Check these web pages for useful information and links to relevant websites.
  • Check with your local council to find out what facilities are available.
  • Consider speaking to people with MS who may have undertaken your chosen sport. This might be achieved in a discussion group such as MS People UK or Jooly’s Joint.
