Stay Active Some questions to think about when planning a sporting activity
- Which sport would you like to pursue?
- Is it a new sport or one that you have undertaken previously?
- If you have undertaken the sport previously do you have any useful contacts?
- Think about any aspects of your MS that might impact on your ability to undertake sport. For example:
- Is your eyesight affected?
- Is mobility a problem?
- Would it be helpful to speak to your GP or your MS specialist nurse?
- Think about the cost of participation. Many sports offer a taster session.
- Check these web pages for useful information and links to relevant websites.
- Check with your local council to find out what facilities are available.
- Consider speaking to people with MS who may have undertaken your chosen sport. This might be achieved in a discussion group such as MS People UK or Jooly’s Joint.
