Stay Active Photography

Photography can be both a therapeutic and a creative pastime. There are lots of settings where you could capture that perfect image, whether it is some stunning scenery, a social event or a still life. Equipment is available, or can be adapted, to make photography possible for those with mobility or dexterity problems.
The Royal Photographic Society is the foremost photographic society in the world. It enables its members to get more out of photography by helping them develop their skills, staying abreast of new developments and helping them meet other photographers.
The Disabled Photographers’ Society was established in 1968. Their main aim is to encourage disabled people to take up, or carry on with, photography as a leisure activity. The society encourages its members to join mainstream photographic clubs and can provide the contact details of local groups throughout the UK. The society also collects surplus equipment for use by disabled photographers. Any equipment that is donated is checked and repaired as necessary. The society can supply darkroom and camera equipment and also provides advice on technical matters and specialist equipment.
Photography can be both a therapeutic and creative pastime.
