Stay Active Attend a live sporting event
Going to watch a live sporting event is a fantastic experience, and completely different from watching it on TV. Access to sporting venues has improved significantly over the past few years, making it an activity that people with disabilities are increasingly able to participate in. Some venues require you to make advance arrangements, therefore it is best to contact the venue direct for details, or see if the organising body of the event you are interested in has the relevant information.
The National Association of Disabled Supporters provides information about disabled facilities and the contact details of all Premiership, Championship, League and Conference football clubs. From the club links page you can find details on access, parking, toilets and catering. Information on the number of wheelchair places available and where they are positioned in the ground is also included. Some football grounds allow 'pushers' in free, which can make the day a bit cheaper. Contact venues direct for further details.
