Having learnt to sail as a schoolboy, a substantial motivating factor in my life is to find that I am sailing more often and more competitively, despite 28 years of MS. Sport is a great focus for ambition and achievement for anyone: for an individual with disabilities, achievement is even more valuable and I believe inspires further attainment.

I am aware that for many people with MS, information about a chosen sport, access, facilities, support availability and so on, is often lacking and can deter venturing further. These webpages provide an information resource for people with MS, and other disabilities, to enable the pursuit of various sports. It also compiles the experiences of those sportsmen and sportswomen who have contributed personal accounts of their achievements in various fields.

I am very grateful to the MS Trust for developing this project; we have had much input from many new contacts and our sincere thanks extend to all who have been involved. An information resource such as this is never perfect or complete. Good information evolves over time with new data and additions; we welcome your feedback and input which should be directed to the MS Trust.

Good luck in your chosen pursuit. I hope you achieve all you strive for.
