Angela's experience of a lifetime!

30 June 2008

Angela Sturt took part in Jump in June 2008 and raised the fantastic total of £968.48 for the MS Trust.

"I was diagnosed with MS in January 2007, the symptoms are mild but it has answered a lot of my questions, particularly going blind in one eye 28 years ago. My sight is okay now and I am the fittest I have been in a long while. Life is so much easer to cope with when there are explanations and answers. I have found the MS Trust website in particular invaluable.

"As I love every aspect of flying it felt like a natural progression to do a parachute jump. It is also my 50th year and I was challenged to do 50 things I had never done before. I took part in the Jump in June for the MS Trust on 28 June 2008 at Bicester airfield. All of my initial nerves were calmed by the staff there, who were reassuring, enthusiastic and fun!

"My instructor was Ricky, a softly spoken guy who made me feel completely at ease. When it was my turn Ricky counted "three, two, one" and I somersaulted out of the door. It was so exhilarating. As we came out the other side, the views and landscape were fantastic; I felt as though I was in another world.

"I can say now that I have done it, and I've got the certificate to prove it! What has been awesome since doing it is the reaction from people I come across in my work and personal life. I hadn't realised what a big thing I had done until afterwards. I cannot explain how much it meant to me and my family and I would recommend the experience to anyone."
