How much will it cost?
£349 registration fee + £3,500 minimum sponsorship. The actual costs of the trip will be £1,750 (fuel surcharges may apply) so the MS Trust receives £1,750 plus every penny raised over the minimum sponsorship. The sponsorship raised will enable the MS Trust to take positive steps to improve the lives of people living with MS today.
What's included in the minimum sponsorship?
Flights and all internal travel, accommodation, all meals on trekking days, water, refreshments, guides, a doctor and medical support.
Is the trip for me?
YES! People of all ages and from all walks of life take part in these fantastic challenges and what everyone has in common is the desire to do something amazing for a great cause! Some people come with friends or family but most people won't know anyone else on the trip so it's a great opportunity to make new friends! Everyone is welcome!
How fit do I need to be?
Most people will be just like you, however if you want to get the very best out of the trip it's imperative that you train. Once you have reserved your place on the trip we will give you training hints and tips.
Will I be able to raise the sponsorship money?
YES! So long as you start in good time you'll find that you can easily raise more than the minimum. To get you started we have listed some ideas in this brochure, and don't forget you can call us at any time for help and advice!
Can I stay on in Costa Rica for longer?
YES! For a nominal administration fee your flight can be extended (subject to availability). This will give you the opportunity to discover more of this amazing country independently.
Will you help me?
YES! We have a dedicated event manager who will be on hand to look after you every step of the way. The link to the confirmation site you will be sent upon booking will include everything you need to know and we are always just a phone call away if you need any help, advice or you just want a good chin-wag!
What's the food like?
Tasty in one word! We shall enjoy delicious Costa Rican cuisines such as rice, chicken, pork, fish and black bean.
What do I need to bring?
NO specialist kit required! We'll send you a full packing list when you register.
Will you carry my luggage whilst I'm walking?
YES! Your luggage will be carried seperately in one of the support vehicles or by horses. You'll just need to carry those essentials like water, sun tan lotion and a camera!
What's the accommodation like?
Hotels either side of the trek and tents during the trek.
How hot will it be?
Usually 24ºC during the day, however the temperature will be a lot cooler in the evening
When should I book my place on the trip?
TODAY! Places are limited and they go really quickly so book soon to avoid disappointment.
