Sexuality and MS: a guide for women (reprint)
Winner of 1st prize in the British Medical Association (BMA) Patient Information Awards
Offering a positive and practical approach to issues that affect many women with MS, we have already sent out 7,000 copies of this book. Due to continuing demand we plan to revise and reprint it.
Sexual issues can be a real problem for people with MS and in many cases it is difficult for them to know how, or where, they can get advice and help. This is particularly the case for women with sexual issues as there are no drug therapies available and many health professionals do not have the time or expertise to discuss these issues.
Written in conjunction with Nicki Ward-Abel, a lecturer/practitioner in multiple sclerosis at the University of Central England (Birmingham), the book was originally produced at the end of 2006. Due to the continuing demand, the book will be revised and reprinted to ensure it has the most up to date information. The book provides an explanation of why sexual issues can arise for women with MS and specialist advice to people on how to manage their MS to minimise its effect on their sexual life.
We plan to print 10,000 copies of this book. Each copy will cost us £2.00 to reprint, so a donation of just £12 would pay for six copies.

Here is some of the feedback we have received...
I wanted to thank the MS Trust for their booklet on 'Sexuality and MS' and let women who have MS know that they're not alone. By reading this booklet you will understand yourself, MS and your problems a little better, as well as get some useful advice and learn some exercises that will hopefully get you back on track!
I think that this book is really interesting and is good to read that other people feel the same about these issues.
One of the biggest drawbacks for women with MS when they have sexual problems or questions is that it is really difficult to get a healthcare professional who can talk to you about it and advise you what to do. Most simply don't know how to help you. I think this book is very timely as I know a number of women with MS who find themselves in a similar position to me.
