A to Z of MS Cochrane Reviews

Cochrane Reviews are systematic reviews that examine the best available evidence about healthcare interventions.

A systematic review is an overview of primary studies of a treatment or area of management of a symptom of condition. They are needed when there is a therapeutic question with several primary studies and some uncertainty in the findings. The reviews explore the evidence for and against the effectiveness and appropriateness of treatments in specific circumstances.

Cochrane reviews are produced by the Cochrane Collaboration - an international, not for profit, independent organisation.

When considering the evidence base for a particular treatment or intervention the findings of a Cochrane review are highly regarded.

The complete reviews are published quarterly in The Cochrane Library, and updated regularly to incorporate new evidence.
